I offer consultation services for therapists who are looking to deepen their practice or earn their hours for licensure.
In consultation and supervision, I strive to be supportive and collaborative. I try to create a space where both trainees and colleagues are encouraged to celebrate their strengths, to build their comfort with the discomfort of being imperfect, and to approach mistakes as human and part of what we all experience as we continue to grow into our skill sets. My theoretical orientation is humanistic, and the techniques I use are cognitive behavioral. I am skilled and experienced with helping therapists integrate new techniques into your own orientation and unique style as a practitioner.
I offer support through consultation or supervision in:
Treating trauma and PTSD.
I have multiple years of experience in training and supporting other therapists to enhance their skills in providing trauma therapy. I have completed intensive trainings not only in treating trauma, but also, in how to teach trauma therapy to others. This includes making sure we address both technique and how to do this work sustainably as a practitioner. My supervision experience includes training and supporting practicum students, psychiatry residents, and community therapists in learning prolonged exposure therapy (PE) and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for PTSD. As a certified consultant in PE through the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety (CTSA), consultation with me counts towards formal PE certification.
Exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP) for OCD. I am certified in Exposure and Response Prevention therapy and have completed a two year postdoctoral fellowship at the CTSA focusing on treating OCD. I have supported both new and experienced therapists with gaining and expanding their skills in treating OCD. Please note that, although intensively trained and expert in this treatment, I am not a certified CTSA consultant in ERP. As such, I can serve as a consultant or supervisor to you in learning this therapy, but consultation with me does not count toward formal ERP certification.
Culturally responsive care with queer, trans, and LGBTQIA+ clients. I have both lived and professional experience working with queer, trans, and LGBTQIA+ individuals. I am passionate about supporting straight and/or cisgender therapists in working well with clients who hold these identities.
If you are seeking supervision or consultation in these areas, please reach out! I would love to support you in expanding your skill set.
