Session Fees

I try to make therapy accessible while ensuring our work is sustainable for both of us, so that I can provide a high quality of care. The standard fees are below. These amounts allow me to also offer a sliding scale, or reduced cost, for clients who need a lower fee.

Out-of-Pocket Fees:

  • Individual Therapy Session (50 mins): $200
For clients who can comfortably meet their financial needs.

  • Sliding Scale Session (50 mins): $150-170
For clients who can meet most of their needs but would not be able to afford the session fees above.

  • Community Scale Session (50 mins): $15-80
For clients who struggle to meet basic needs due to identity, class background, or other factors.

Letters for Gender-Affirming Care are free for all clients. You do not need to be a current client. Please contact me if you need a letter for hormones or surgery. Please include in your message the date you will need the letter by. I prioritize all such appointments, but if I cannot schedule you in the needed timeframe, I will let you know as soon as possible.

If you need a sliding scale or community spot, please let me know in your contact form. Sliding scale and Community spots open periodically as clients graduate from care. If no spots are currently open at the needed amount, I will add you to the waitlist, recommend other resources, and let you know as soon as a spot opens up.

For more info on how to find where you are at on the sliding scale, please read the “Green Bottle” image below, designed by Alexis J. Cunningfolk, or its alternate/caption text. Consider also your access or lack of access to a family safety net.

This image shows three bottles filled with different amounts of green liquid to visualize different levels of financial access.

One bottle is full, and includes the text: I am comfortably able to meet all of my basic needs. I may have some debt but it does not prohibit attainment of basic needs. I own my home or property OR I rent a higher-end property. I own or lease a car. I am employed or do not need to work to meet my needs. I have regular access to health care. I have access to financial savings. I have an expendable income. I can always buy new items. I can afford an annual vacation or take time off.

One bottle is half full and includes the text: I may stress about meeting my basic needs but still regularly achieve them. I may have some debt but it does not prohibit attainment of basic needs. I own or lease a car. I am employed. I have access to health care. I might have access to financial savings. I have some expendable income. I am able to buy some new items & I thrift others. I can take a vacation annually or every few years without financial burden.

One bottle is about a quarter full and includes the text: I frequently stress about meeting basic needs & don't always achieve them. I have debt and it sometimes prohibits me from meeting my basic needs. I rent lower-end properties or have unstable housing. I do not have a car and/or have limited access to a car but I am not always able to afford gas. I am unemployed or underemployed. I qualify for government assistance including food stamps & health care. I have no access to savings. I have no or very limited expendable income. I rarely buy new items because I am unable to afford them. I cannot afford a vacation or have the ability to take time off without financial burden.

Insurances:

I am not currently in-network with any insurance providers. However, many insurances will cover 50-60% of therapy costs for out of network therapists. The way this works is, you pay for your session, I provide you with a “superbill” that has the information your insurance company requires for reimbursement, and you send it to your insurance company for a refund. I am glad to help support you in learning how to do this process.
